The men's Frozen Four in NCAA hockey starts Thursday at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla. Top-ranked Minnesota (28-9-1) faces No. 5 Boston University in the first game at 5 p.m. and No. 2 Quinnipiac University will face No. 3 Michigan (26-11-3) in the nightcap at 8:30 p.m.

The winner will advance to the national championship on Saturday at 8 p.m. All games will be televised on ESPN2.

New England Represents in Force

Boston University (29-10) has won nine consecutive games after losing four in a row.  The Terriers have posted a 5-3 record at neutral sites, including two straight at the Manchester Regional with wins over Western Michigan (5-1) and No. 12 Cornell (2-1) to advance.

Seniors Wilmer Skoog and Ethan Phillips scored goals and junior goalie Drew Commesso kept Cornell scoreless until the final minute as BU advanced to the Frozen Four for the 23rd time. The Terriers will be making their first national semifinal appearance since 2015.

Quinnipiac University (32-4-3), located in Hamden, Conn., has won two in a row and 14 of its last 15 games. Quinnipiac outscored its opponents in the NCAA Bridgewater Regional, 9-1, highlighted by a 4-1 victory over Ohio State in the final. The Bobcats advance to the Frozen Four for the third time in school history and for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
