The DunKings of Super Bowl commercial fame are not be performing tonight, but Dunkin’ will be sponsoring the crown jewel of New England hockey as Boston University (19-7-1, 13-4-1 Hockey East) faces defending champion Northeastern (12-12-2, 6-11-0 Hockey East) in the 71st Beanpot Men's Championship at TD Garden in Boston. First faceoff is 7:30 p.m. (NESN).

The consolation game features Boston College (20-5-1, 13-3-1) against Harvard (4-14-4, 4-8-4) at 4:30 p.m. (ESPN+).

The Beanpot is one of the few local college sports offered by Massachusetts sportsbooks. Although you can’t wager on in-state collegiate teams during the regular season, you can wager on them in a tournament format with a minimum of four teams. Entering tonight's game, Boston University has won three straight and seven of its last 10 games. including a 7-1 home win over Merrimack on Feb. 9. Northeastern, winners of five straight games, has had a full week of rest since defeating Harvard, 3-2 in overtime, last Monday in the semifinal round of the Beanpot.

This will be the sixth straight Beanpot Tournament that both teams have met with Northeastern winning four of the previous five meetings, as well as four of the last five titles, including last year’s shootout victory over Harvard after beating the Terriers in the semifinals.

Earlier this season, the teams split the season series, with each school winning at home in overtime. Northeastern won the first meeting, 4-3, on Jan. 30. The Terriers won the first meeting of the year, 4-3, in overtime at home on Jan. 9.
