Boston has taken control of the NBA Finals, as well as the championship betting odds, after its Game 3 victory over Golden State on Wednesday.

The Eastern Conference champion Celtics took a 2-1 series lead with Wednesday’s 116-100 victory over the Warriors.

Boston can increase the pressure further with a second home victory. Game 4 is at 9 p.m. Eastern time Friday on ABC.

Boston outscored the Warriors, 33-22, in the game’s opening quarter and led 68-56 at the half. Golden State was able to gather some momentum in the third, outscoring Boston by eight points, but the Celtics pulled away with a 23-11 fourth quarter.

Here’s what you need to know about Game 4 of the 2022 NBA Finals, from a betting perspective.

There is currently no legal Massachusetts sports betting.

As it sits, Gov. Charlie Baker would sign a bill but has not been presented with one. A legislative committee meets this week to try and work out a sports betting compromise.

It will be a large market in the United States when it does pass.

Boston a Home Favorite For Second Straight Game

Boston, which was a 3.5-point favorite in Game 3, finds itself anywhere from a 3.5-point (BetMGM) to 4-point (Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook) favorite Friday.

Celtics guard Jaylen Brown scored a team-high 27 points in the Game 3 victory.

For those looking to place a moneyline wager, BetMGM has the Celtics at -175. The over/under is 215.5 points.

Boston Solidifies Itself as Title Favorites

Golden State’s championship odds continued their week-long slide entering Game 4, with BetMGM dropping the Warriors from +140 on June 3 to +180 on Thursday.

Caesars Sportsbook has Boston -230 to win the series. The Emperor also has figures on the series outcome, with Boston 4-2 (+180) and Boston 4-1 (+290) having the best odds, followed by Golden State 4-2 (+310), Boston 4-3 (+550) and Golden State 4-3 (+800).

The oddsmakers at DraftKings Sportsbook have dropped the Warriors from +160 on June 3 to +200 on Thursday, while boosting Boston from -190 to -240 to capture the series.
