With the NFL Draft around the corner and the 2025 season not that far on the horizon for Massachusetts sportsbooks, BetMassachusetts.com used Spotrac.com and Pro-Football-Reference.com to find the most undervalued NFL WRs from the 2024 season. According to 2024 salary and total yards, the Patriots' Demario Douglas and Kayshon Boutte are among the most undervalued in their position.
Rank | Player | $ Per Yard |
1 | Tay Martin (TEN) | $901 |
2 | Puka Nacua (LAR) | $986 |
3 | Khalil Shakir (BUF) | $1,305 |
4 | Jalen Coker (CAR) | $1,386 |
5 | Kevin Austin (NO) | $1,462 |
6 | Demario Douglas (NWE) | $1,527 |
7 | Josh Downs (IND) | $1,562 |
8 | Ladd McConkey (LAC) | $1,582 |
9 | Kayshon Boutte (NWE) | $1,633 |
10 | Devaughn Vele (DEN) | $1,729 |
While the New England Patriots' most recent wide receiver addition (Stefon Diggs) did not make the cut when it came to providing the most bang for the proverbial buck last football season, the veteran of 144 NFL games should still provide a boon for the AFC East squad.
That’s because two of his new teammates in Foxborough are Demario Douglas and Kayshon Boutte, who ranked sixth and ninth, respectively, when it came to the best return on investment (dollars per yard gained wise) last football season, at $1,527 and $1,633, though both ranked just behind the NFL’s leaders in that category.
Those leaders included Tay Martin of the Tennessee Titans, who earned $901 per yard gained, while Puka Nacua of the Los Angeles Rams ($986 per yard), Khalil Shakir of the Buffalo Bills ($1,305 per yard), Jalen Coker of the Carolina Panthers ($1,386 per yard) and Kevin Austin of the New Orleans Saints ($1,462 per yard) rounded out the NFL’s undervalued wideouts list.
With second-year quarterback Drake Maye looking to take a leap with new coach Mike Vrabel and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels next season, the value Douglas and Boutte provided in a down year should give Pats fans more optimism as they line up with Diggs (and better coaching) next season.
