Artificial intelligence applications anticipate a third straight 4-13 campaign in New England. While the Patriots aren’t favored to reach the playoffs – Fanatics MA +150 odds to advance to the postseason equates to a 40% implied probability – many believe they would be the second-best team in the AFC East. That’s how FanDuel lists the Pats, as their +500 odds to win the division are only longer than the Buffalo Bills’ -260.
However, the projection above has the Patriots going 0-6 against divisional foes.
Caesars Sportsbook has odds on NFL games through mid-December, and the Patriots are the favorite in nine of their first 14 games. AI believes New England will lose to five of those teams outright. They are: the Las Vegas Raiders (Patriots are -3), Pittsburgh Steelers (Patriots -1), New Orleans Saints (Patriots -3.5), Cleveland Browns (Patriots -5.5) and New York Jets (Patriots -5).
