Fact Checked by Thomas Leary

  • 👀The Celtics are up 3-0 on the Mavericks in the NBA Finals, as they seek their first title since 2008.
  • 📈Below, we reveal our hypothetical odds to be the next NBA Finals MVP.
  • 🏀The Celtics' Jaylen Brown (-280) is now the favorite, overtaking teammate Jayson Tatum.

The Boston Celtics are closing in on their first NBA title since 2008, taking a commanding 3-0 lead over the Dallas Mavericks.

BetMassachusetts.com has been providing hypothetical odds on which player from the Celtics or Mavericks will win Finals MVP all series. With the Celtics very much in the driver's seat ahead of Friday's Game 4 in Dallas, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are in danger of falling off the board entirely, while Jaylen Brown has overtaken Jayson Tatum as the heavy favorite.

Right now, our hypothetical odds leader when it comes to NBA Finals MVP odds is Celtics star forward Jaylen Brown (-280), who just scored 30 points in the Celtics' commanding 106-99 Game 3 win on the road. While Tatum scored 31 in Game 3, Brown has been the more consistent performer of the two across the series, with Tatum scoring just 16 and 18 points, respectively, in Games 1 and 2.

Even so, ahead of Game 3, Tatum had still been the favorite for Finals MVP. Now however, he only has a 28.6% chance of lifting the award.

Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks is coming in at +2200, as he has failed to lift his team to even one win in the series.
