Fact Checked by Pat McLoone

AI, otherwise known as Artificial Intelligence.

What is AI?

According to Merriam-Webster.com, AI is a branch of computer science dealing with the simulation of intelligent behavior in computers. In other words, it's the capability of a machine to imitate intelligent human behavior.

As we begin to see AI implemented and utilized in daily work and leisure across the nation, we decided to take a break from Massachusetts sports betting to try to decipher the states that are most interested in this new high-tech phenomenon that is literally taking over the world one word at a time.

BetMassachusetts.com – your source for Massachusetts betting apps - utilized Google Trends to gather the average search interest of the terms “Artificial Intelligence,” “ChatGPT,” and “AI” in their report over the past 12 months (June 1st, 2022-June 1st, 2023) to finalize the Top 10 states with interest in artificial intelligence.

Massachusetts Takes Second Place

Massachusetts ranked second in the nation with a score of 85 for average interest on Google Trends. No other New England state ranked in the top 10.

East Coast states that ranked in the top 10 were: Virginia (5th, 79), New Jersey (6th, 78), New York (tied for 7th, 76) and Maryland (9th, 73).

California topped the list with a point total of 94.

Some of the industries that will benefit and utilize AI the most in the state are manufacturing companies, banking and financial services, medical professions, the insurance and media/entertainment industries, to name just to name a few.
Many businesses, industries and individuals are using ChatGPT, as of right now probably the most popular to try, test out and use.

Chat GPT is a free-to-use AI chatbot product that was developed by OpenAI. ChatGPT is built on the structure and foundation of GPT-4, which stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer. In essence, it basically checks for the probability of what words might come next in sequence.

For instance, businesses can implement ChatGPT to write and debug code, as well as create reports, presentations and e-mails. In general, ChatGPT can draft, to a degree, the kind of writing you likely would use for work.

In any case, AI is here to stay. Hopefully, the benefits outweigh the negatives.
